Hmm...I have not updated for quite some days. I was rather busy, or tired, and even not in the mood for anything over the past days. Haha...someone said that my previous posts are all about FIFA World Cup. Ok, I shall mention what's going on in my life. Great? Clap for me...hehe...
Oh...I went to my class chalet with 9 fellow classmates. We really had great time to squeeze in the van Declan had kindly rented, go to Changi Village, Old Changi Village and even play card games and even mahjong. Of course, we also watched and talked about FIFA World Cup. Hmm...I'm starting to appreciate chalet outings. We really can hang out, chat and play together. And b'cos of this chalet, I came across a newly released Korean drama serial named "Wedding", which I'm tempted to buy ever since I saw it being advertised on TV. Haha...I bought it at half price. Certainly a great deal. Absolutely happy. Then, when I got home from the chalet, I started to watch this Korean drama serial. The Korean drama serial, "Wedding", is starred with Jang Nara and Ryu Shi-won. Unlike many K-drama series, "Wedding" begins with two young lovers tying the knot. However, things do not go smoothly for the newlyweds. Lee Se-na (Jang Nara) is a music graduate from a rich family and works as a manager at a theater. She was introduced to diplomat Han Seung-woo (Ryu Shi-won) and the two decide to marry because they are considered a good match. As time goes by, however, they clash on virtually every issue because of their different backgrounds and life values. Seung-woo begins falling for his childhood sweetheart, Yun-soo (Myung Se-bin), who is far less reckless than Se-na. But as her husband drifts away from her, Se-na grows more attracted to him and begins to take steps towards reconciling their differences. And in return, Seung-woo also starts to fall for Se-na and can't bear to put an end to their marriage, despite too much misunderstanding between them. Hmm...it's definitely a sweet and touching drama serial, which totally lightens up my life. I strongly recommend you to watch it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hmm...I really feel like watching it all over again. It's so sweet that I can't bear not to watch it again. How nice if I am to have a husband like Seung-woo or even Hyuck-jun in another Korean drama serial, "My Little Bride".

By now, the second round of group matches have been completed. Ecuador, Germany, England, Argentina, the Netherlands, Portugal, Brazil and Spain have confirmed a place to the round of the 16. Haha, I'm not surprised with this fact cos' these teams really deserve such honour to proceed on.
While these 8 teams celebrate, France is the only top seeded team which struggle throughout the 2 matches, seeing Switzerland and Korea Republic obtaining 4 points ahead. Well, maybe they really deserve not to go to the next round. Togo might be abit too hard to handle for France. Hmm...just too bad. Maybe Switzerland can help France to win Korea Republic (which is hard too) while France is to win over Togo. Well...still I think the possibility is very low cos' France is no longer the 1998 team which had lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy. Hmm...there comes the final round for the group stage. Will there be surprises? Or just as expected? I'll keep you updated about it.

All the 32 teams have at least played their first game by now. I'll say that some teams really disappoint me while some others shine with their spirit and performance. I'll start with Group D's overview. Mexico and Portugal have been up to expectation by winning Iran and Angola respectively. No doubt they are clear cut to proceed the next round. Hmm...no surprise...everything is just right.
As for Group E, Czech Republic and Italy are also as expected to win their first match, even though USA and Ghana are actually not weak opponents. Without Baros, Czech Republic has scored 3 goals to sink the USA team, which went through the quarter-finals for the last FIFA World Cup tournament. I guess the goals seperate the World No. 2 an World No. 5. And Italy has done enough with 2 goals to sink the African champion Ghana. Then again...there's not much surprise. As for Group F, Australia is the bright star as it has come back with 3 goals in the second half after went down with a goal from Japan. Oh, it really deserves the credit to be a team that Brazil cannot take lightly. And Brazil has struggled to play well with Croatia. Without Kaka's goal, it might have held a draw with Croatia, which actually has played extremely well. Japan is really a disappointment not to take the chances seriously and having not enough support, especially Alex at the left wing. He really does not deserve to be in the team as he really plays badly. What the hell Zico is thinking? Group G is a group to watch. France, Switzerland and Korea Republic look strong to go on to the next round. Togo also does not look weak for the three teams to easily grab the three points. Seriously, France seems to lose the kind of standard which the 1998 team had. It'll be hard for them to play with stronger teams if they only depend on Zidane and Henry. As for Switzerland and Korea Republic, I think they have better chance to proceed on as they look more promising. So sorry if you are a fan of the France team. This is a fact that it is not strong. As for Group H, Spain has definitely shined with a 4-0 win over Ukraine. I think it has proven that it is a true contender for this tournament, no longer an under-performer. At the same time, Ukraine has done really bad with lousy defence and little attack. Even with its inspiritional captain Shevchenko, it fails to find much chance to score a goal. On the other match, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia have displayed superb fighting spirit that they deserve to go to the next round despite Spain and Ukraine are the hot favourites. Well, who knows what'll happen in the coming matches? Haha...we just have to sit back and watch. By the way, Germany has secured a place to the next round by beating Poland by a late goal. Man, the Germans must be very happy about this result. But whether it'll be the group leader depends on the match between Ecuador and Costa Rica. Ok, I'll be back with more updates about the FIFA World Cup tournament later.

Six matches had been played. Some give the world a shock. Others give their fans satisfying results. Trinidad and Tobago is certainly the best shocker. It has held Sweden with a 0-0 draw at Dortmund. Haha...their first FIFA World Cup finals appearance just can't be taken lightly. Actually, Sweden is really very unlucky to not even score when the ball was very near to the goal. And as for the other Group B match, England has performed not up to standard as Paraguay tried its best while losing its first choice goalkeeper. Then again Michael Owen was performing below standard while his counterpart Peter Crouch can be seen to do his job well. So it looks like England has lots to improve if it wants to claim the FIFA World Cup crown this summer.
The host country Germany is impressive too with young players like Podolski and Schweinsteiger making great attacks without the captain Ballack around due to injury. And Poland has done a horrible job in the other Group A match. It has played with lots of mistakes and that makes me wonder why Jerzy Dudek is not called up for the team. While the Polish side failed in its first match, Ecuador took the advantage to score twice to secure the three points. Actually, Costa Rica is a stronger contender in the group too while it has scored two goals against Germany through Wanchope. Haha...that's interesting as great fights will be expected from the coming matches for Group A. As for Group C, Argentina and the Netherlands look set to proceed to the next round while getting three points from their first matches. However, I believe that Côte d'Ivoire and Serbia and Montenegro will still fight on cos' losing in the opening matches does not mean the end of their tournament. They won't let their opponents easily grab the points. And I must say that the match between Serbia and Montenegro and the Netherlands was impressive, especially Serbia and Montenegro's fighting spirits and the Netherlands' Robben displaying excellent playing. No wonder Chelsea has bought him at a high price. Haha... Hmm...10 matches to go to have the first look for the 32 teams. More great fighting will be expected. Shockers are no exception. New football talents will be discovered too. I'll come back with more about FIFA World Cup later.

Now I'm ready for the FIFA World Cup tournament. And the opening match is just about one hour more away. I bet many soccer fans, especially those countries which have their football teams participating, are damn eager for it to come. Yes, indeed this is arguably the most popular sport event in the world. Nobody can say that he or she has no idea about it. Haha...right?
Before we have the opening match giving the sensation of sport spirit and excitement, let us look again the famous FIFA World Cup trophy. It has the names of past FIFA World Cup winners. And Brazil has its name 5 times on the winners' list. Wow...impressive. Will Samba football flourish again, like how it did for the last World Cup tournament? Or will Three Lions or the hosts Germans fulfill their dreams? Haha...we shall see these actions throughout the next month. ![]() Oh, this FIFA World Cup tournament has really nice slogans. And they are "A time to make friends" and "Say no to racism". I believe these are necessary during such times where there's hatred, revenge and selfishness. Hopefully while watching the whole tournament, people realise the need to understand one another, regardless of nationality, race and language. We all belong to this world. Nobody else can love us more than we do. Haha...cheers to these slogans! ![]() Seriously, I love to watch FIFA World Cup tournament cos' there's always full of spirits, surprises and excitement. And you get to see pretty pictures of people gathering to enjoy this football fiesta. Indeed beautiful. I love that. Ok, let us sit down and enjoy the opening match between the host country Germany and South American Costa Rica. Haha...the German heraldic eagle is asking me to quickly get seated to let everyone enjoy this FIFA World Cup tournament to the fullest. ![]()

Tic-toc...and everyone is counting down to the biggest sport event, the FIFA World Cup. And it will be held in Germany this year from June 9 to July 9. Haha...I also have started to read up articles about the 32 participating teams on the official website and various sport websites. Seriously, I have no idea which team has more chance to lift the World Cup trophy than the others. But certainly I'll take note of those 'dark horses' of this tournament. Why? Just remember how South Korea fared last World Cup in her home ground.
Okay, anyway, let us have the prelude of World Cup fever first. Three students from Munich's Technical University have actually developed a drink called 'Germany Cocktail' in the national colors of Germany for celebration of the FIFA Football World Cup to be held from June 9 to July 9. And this cocktail mainly consists of black vodka, blood orange juice mixed with grenadine (red) and orange juice (gold). Wow...I mean it looks and sounds great to have. And I wonder if you are able to drink it on Munich's pubs or clubs. Maybe pub or club tenants over here should consider selling this to attract soccer watchers. ![]() Haha...looks interesting to you? Certainly to me. Well, I shall come back with more about World Cup when I am free. Now I got to go and catch some sleep before continuing my essay and revision for my subjects.
