Oh yes, it's Spain, the new king of European football. Despite watching Spain's Euro 2008 performance for the first time at this morning's UEFA Euro 2008 Final, I am seriously impressed with the Spanish team. They are really as good as what they are described on many of the newspapers's sports column. Hmm...they are certainly the well-deserved champions of this tournament.

However, I still think that the German team deserves a big round of applause. Initially, I thought that they might have been eliminated by Portugal as Portugal seems very strong in the group matches. Miraculously, Germany has knocked out Portugal and Turkey with similar scores of 3-2 to set up the UEFA 2008 Final with Spain. So, how will loyal fans of Die Mannschaft be so unhappy about the runner-up finishing? Never. And please also note that we are still keeping our faith in the German team to bring back glory in the near-future tournaments.

Okay, that's my conclusion of this season's UEFA European Football Championship. And now I gonna keep my mind focused for the next big event, or even a series of big events. Go go, and I can do it !!

Unbelievable. Three group runners-up for this season's UEFA European Football Championship have actually knocked out the opponents. Hmm...is it a curse? Or is it some smart tactical moves? I guess nobody can really answer this outcome. If Italy is to win over Spain tonight, I will believe that it's simply a curse. Hehe...so, good luck, Spain. And, do believe in yourself, Italy.

Anyway, I just had a gathering with some of my NPCC squadmates at Jiahui's place. I guess we were supposed to play some group activities, like mahjong and poker. Instead, we were basically sitting around the mahjong table and chatting throughout the night. And the topics we covered have ranged from recollecting the past to talking about future plans. Also, when being asked upon, the guys had given their point of view and advice to the gals present on how to handle relationship issues. Of course, this has led to asking different individuals to confess his/her love history, be it old or new flame. Haha...like what Marilyn claimed, we just never get sick of talking about old, existing or potential significant others. Finally, at around 5 in the morning, lights were finally off, ending the whole night of catch-ups and laughter. I must say this gathering as overall has been great. And it is really quite amazing that the bond we all have built back in 9 years ago can actually last till to date. Now, I am counting to the tenth...

Okay, I am really tired now. Sleep is desperately needed here. I gotta go to bed as soon as possible. Yawn...my bed is like heaven now.

Yes! It's already past mid June. And I am ending my job assignment soon. I can't wait for that day. Other than being not so happy with the job, I am just too preoccupied with what is required to be done before my freshman year is to commence in August. Hmm...seriously, the checklist given by the university can be real complicated, not absolutely helpful. Even Lijuan agreed with me when I asked her over the phone. So, the question is...why? Why is that so? I guess the university should really look into this issue seriously.

Anyway, the first knockout match of this season's UEFA European Football Championship, or commonly referred as UEFA Euro 2008, is about to take place later today (based on Central European Summer Time) in Basel, Switzerland. And it will be the favourites, Portugal, against the potential underdogs, Germany. Well, to me, both teams are relatively good for some or any reasons. But, what caught my attention here is Germany's Bastian Schweinsteiger. Bavaria born and bred, Bastian Schweinsteiger has been a FC Bayern München stalwart for the past six years and a regular German international for the past four years since the introduction as a teenager at UEFA Euro 2004. After being sent off in the group match against Croatia, he is now back in action for the German team. Moreover, he is going to make his first start at this UEFA Euro tournament later. Haha...based on Schweinsteiger's right midfielder role & talent, I guess we can expect a more creative German team later against Luiz Felipe Scolari's side. And of course, this will add on to why Germany is labelled as the underdogs for the UEFA Euro 2008 season.

Okay, that's all I want to say for this moment. And hopefully, I could stay up later to watch this well-anticipated match. Go go, Portugal and Germany! Show me a well-fought soccer match!
